230th ACS National Meeting - Fluorous Alert!

Fluorous Flourishes

Fluorous Flourishes" at the recently completed 1st International Symposium on Fluorous Technology (ISoFT) in Bordeaux as well as at the upcoming American Chemical Society Meeting in Washington, DC (August 28 - September 1). The ACS meeting will be featuring a record 20 talks and posters on fluorous chemistry, including a half-day symposium on "Recent Advances in Fluorous Chemistry" co-sponsored by the ACS Division of Organic Chemistry and the Division of Fluorine Chemistry as well as Fluorous Technologies, Inc. We invite you to attend any or all of these presentations as well as to visit Fluorous Technologies Inc. at Booth 2024 to learn more about what Fluorous Technologies has to offer and how fluorous chemistry can help improve your productivity.

The half-day symposium on "Recent Advances in Fluorous Chemistry" will take place on Monday, August 29, from 8:00 AM to Noon at the Washington DC Convention Center – Ballroom C. The organizer and FTI founder, Professor Dennis P. Curran, will open the symposium with an introductory overview lecture. This will be followed by topical lectures from 7 leaders. This is a compact opportunity for you to get up to speed quickly on the principles and the latest developments in this fast moving field. Topics to be covered:

8:00 AM - Dennis Curran - “An introduction to fluorous techniques for the synthesis of small organic molecules”

8:30 AM - John A. Gladysz - “Fluorous chemistry without fluorous solvents: New catalyst recovery protocols based upon fluoropolymers”
